WILKERSON, Kyle G. (1947-2013)
Mr. Kyle G. Wilkerson, 65, of Bryants Store, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his home. He was a son of the late Vasco and Ona Lou Bailey Wilkerson born on September 15, 1947 in Knoxville, TN.
Mr. Wilkerson was a former TruSeal Technologies truck driver and a member of the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.
On January 6, 1968, he united in marriage with Connie Steele in Maynardville, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ulis Wilkerson.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Wilkerson of Bryants Store; three children, Rhonda Jackson of Harrogate, TN, Teresa Rice and husband, Michael, and Kyle Stephen Wilkerson and fiancé, Joni Roberts, all of Bryants Store; six sisters, Christine Morgan of Knoxville, TN, Bernice Whaley and husband, Kenny, of Sevierville, TN, Joyce Taylor and husband, Steve, of Knoxville, TN, Deborah Hubbard and husband, Don, of Callebs Creek, Diane Rippey and husband, Tommy, of Sevierville, TN and Judy Sproles and husband, Allen, of Knoxville, TN; three brothers, Everett Wilkerson and wife, Lucy, Billy Wilkerson and wife, Carolyn, and Michael Wilkerson and wife, Teresa, all of Knoxville, TN; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; special friends, Beverly Hoskins of Harrogate, TN, Herbie Killion and Edmond King both of Bryants Store and Michelle Hibbard of Barbourville; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, August 17 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Bill Gray and Rev. Ronnie Rose officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Steele Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Denny Ray King, Jerry King, Bradford Brown, Jason Hubbard, Billy Wilkerson and Mitchell Mills. Honorary bearers will be friends, neighbors and his church family at the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the transplant team at Jewish Hospital, Professional Home Health, Knox County Hospital, Hospice of the Bluegrass, Dr. Lohe and staff and Dr. Krishna and staff for their excellent care.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday after 9 A.M. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
