ROSS, Ronald Jason (1976 - 2019)
Mr. Ronald Jason Ross, 42, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday morning, January 19, 2019 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was the son of Patsy Helton Ross and the late Ronald Keith Ross born on March 26, 1976 in Barbourville.
Jason was a member of the First Baptist Church of Artemus and enjoyed fishing, raising chickens, playing softball, telling jokes, spending time with his family and was an avid UK fan.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Richard Ross and Artemus and Bessie Helton.
Survivors include his mother, Patsy Ross of Barbourville; grandmother, Mae Ross of Barbourville; stepmother, Valerie Ross of Barbourville; three sisters, Penny McWilliams and husband, Jack, and Sheila Gray and husband, Mark, all of Barbourville and Lisa Hyde of Richmond; nieces and nephew, Allison Marie McWilliams, Jaxon Keith McWilliams, Katherine Marie Hyde and Genna Claire Hyde; aunts and uncles, Francis and Vernon Rowland of Barbourville, Melanie Ross of Hamilton, OH, Susie and Clifford Gambrel of Lexington, Melissa and Mike Corey of Bimble, Kenitha Warren of Corbin, Marcella Earls of Corbin, Druscilla Williams of Vandalia, OH, Mike Ross and Shirley of Artemus, Rev. Steve and Beth Ross of Knoxville, TN, Jake Ross of Barbourville, Carl Ross of Hamilton, OH, Danny Helton of Lexington, Reed Helton of Corbin and Ernest Helton of Barbourville; many special cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, January 25 at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Steve Ross and Rev. Ronnie Owens officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Zachary Dixon, Barry Rowland, Keith Wilburn, Jarrod O’Connor, Justin O’Connor, Steve Gambrel, John Ross Gambrel, Brandon Warren, Bradlee Warren, Bryan Warren, Josh Cain, Jaxon McWilliams, Steve Helton and Jimmy Ray Garland. Honorary bearers will be Chris Witt, Michael Moses, Danny Lewis Jr., Clay Smith, J. D. Broughton, Teddy Wilder, Merrill Mills, Josh Reiter, Randall Moore, Gerald Hoskins, Brian King, the staff of Barbourville ARH Hospital, University of Kentucky Medical Center, Jewish Hospital, Knox County EMS and the Barbourville Fire Department.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.
