MESSER, Truman Scotty (1968 - 2018)
Mr. Truman Scotty Messer, 50, of Walker, passed away Tuesday morning, November 27, 2018 at his home. He was the son of Geraldine Taylor Messer and the late Truman W. Messer born on November 5, 1968 in Pineville.
Scotty was an electrician and a member of the Walker Baptist Church. He enjoyed ginsenging, basketball, car racing, playing cards and spending time with his son, Caleb. He faithfully served his country in the Kentucky Army National Guard for 21 years.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Tonya Sue Messer and Angela Sanders.
Survivors include his loving mother, Geraldine Messer of Walker; a son, Caleb Scotty Messer; three step-children, Shian, Billy and Isabella; a niece, Danielle Tracey; a nephew, Joshua Sanders and wife, Jessica; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, December 1 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Ken Merida officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Messer Cemetery with military funeral honors.
Casket bearers will be Reed Corey, Richard Hicks, Tony Merritt, Terry Woolum, Billy Madden and Jeff Patterson. Serving as honorary bearers will be current and former members of the 1/149th Infantry.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
