Mrs. Nola M. Williams, 80, of McDonough, GA, formerly of Barbourville, passed away Friday morning, February 26, 2010 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Chester and Nannie Barbara Morris Payne born on June 2, 1929 at Payne’s Creek in Knox County.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker, former bookkeeper at Union College and a member of the Salem Baptist Church in McDonough, GA. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Barbourville and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She enjoyed painting and decorating her home.

On September 2, 1946, she united in marriage with Oliver H. Williams at Artemus and to this union three children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver; two sons, an infant and Teddy Ray Williams and two brothers, Glen and Harold Payne.

Survivors include her children, Pam and Jerry Rowland, of McDonough, GA and Teresa Allie of Alpharetta, GA; a sister, Evelyn and Robert Miller, of Spring, CA; a brother, Clifford and Irene Payne of Somerset; a sister-in-law, Aline Payne of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren, Sherry Davisson, Donna Hooker, Shawnee Williams, Shannon Williams, Nicholas Rowland and Chester Rowland; 13 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A graveside service will be conducted in the Doolin Cemetery Tuesday, March 2 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Shane Nickell officiating.

Casket bearers will be Shawnee Williams, Shannon Williams, Nicholas Rowland, Chester Rowland, Brandon Davisson, Daniel Davisson, Randall Payne and Bryan Payne. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Rowland, Bert Davisson, Evan Rowland and Noah Rowland.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, GA 30253 in loving memory of Mrs. Williams.
