Mr. Vernon Monroe Marsee, 43, of Cannon, passed away Saturday morning, February 20, 2010 at his home. He was a son of Monroe and Lonnie Rose Marsee born on March 31, 1966 in Knox County.

Mr. Marsee was a former auto mechanic and of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed driving race cars and riding motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nealy and Ida Brown Rose; a niece, Whitney Marsee and a nephew, Jonathan Bargo.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Lonnie and Rev. J. C. Disney of Barbourville; his father, Monroe Marsee of Elyria, OH; a daughter, Ashley Jo Marsee of Williamsburg; a sister, Donna Bargo of Barbourville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Nancy Marsee of London and Jason and Melissa Marsee of Barbourville; two nieces, Natasha Bargo of Gray and Melinda Gambrel of Barbourville; a nephew, Jason Tyler Marsee of Somerset; several aunts and uncles; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, February 24 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Charles Eversole and Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Fannon Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends. Honorary bearers will be friends and neighbors.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
